Phone part grades, explained for everyone
On XGSM, every part is marked with its quality grade. These are the 7 grades you may encounter in our catalog — what each means, with pros, cons and who it suits.
Original (service pack)
A part from the manufacturer's official spare-parts channel or a new factory part, with identical specifications to the one initially installed in the phone.

- Fit and quality identical to the factory part
- Greatest durability over time
- No software warnings (e.g. iPhone) or missing features
✗ Cons
- Highest price
- Limited stock, especially for older models
Best for
New or premium phones, display and battery, when you want factory quality without compromises.
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
A part made by the manufacturer that also produces for the original brand, but without official branding and packaging. Practically the same specs, without the logo.

- Factory quality, very close to original
- Lower price than original
- Very good fit
✗ Cons
- No direct brand warranty
- Doesn't exist for all models
Best for
Anyone wanting original quality without paying for branding — a smart compromise.
Aftermarket A+ (premium)
Premium-class compatible part made by third-party manufacturers with high quality-control standards.

- Quality very close to original
- Best price-to-quality ratio
- Good availability
✗ Cons
- Fine differences vs. original (measurable, rarely visible)
Best for
Most repairs on mid-range phones — our most frequent choice.
Aftermarket OLED
Compatible display with an OLED panel — the same display technology as the original (self-lit pixels), made by a third-party manufacturer.

- High contrast and deep blacks, like the original OLED
- Vivid colors and very good brightness
- Price below the original OLED
✗ Cons
- May have slightly lower peak brightness or calibration vs. original
- Quality varies between manufacturers
Best for
Displays on OLED-screen phones, when you want OLED tech without the original's price.
Aftermarket InCell
Compatible display with InCell technology — the touch layer is integrated directly into the panel, resulting in a thin, responsive screen.

- Responsive touch, integrated into the panel
- Thin construction, close to original
- Very good price-to-quality ratio
✗ Cons
- Colors and brightness below an OLED panel
- Better suited to LCD phones
Best for
Good-quality LCD displays at moderate budgets — a solid OLED alternative for compatible models.
Aftermarket standard
Economy-class compatible part, functional and tested, with no premium pretensions.

- Lowest price
- Very good availability
- Functional and tested before installation
✗ Cons
- Colors, brightness or finish below original
- Generally lower durability over time
Best for
Old or backup phones, tight budgets, repairs where function matters more than detail.
Refurbished (reconditioned)
An original part recovered, reconditioned and retested — e.g. an original display with new glass fitted at the factory.

- Original image/function quality
- Lower price than a new original
- A more sustainable choice
✗ Cons
- Limited and variable stock
- Possible minor wear marks on reused components

Why are there so many grades for the same part?
Because each grade answers a different price-quality-availability trade-off. A new premium phone deserves a different part than a backup one. That's why we present all available variants and let you choose.
Which grade is “the best”?
Original is technically the best, but not always the best economic choice. For many models, A+ aftermarket (OLED or InCell) offers 90–95% of the original's quality at a fraction of the price.
Does the warranty differ by grade?
Yes. All parts we install carry a warranty, but duration and conditions vary by grade — we tell you exactly, on the quote and on handover documents.
Can I change the grade after seeing the quote?
Yes, as long as the part hasn't been ordered or installed. That's why we show you all available grades in the quote, so you can compare at leisure.
